Vintage Notes

Winter and early spring were marked by cool, wet weather, which delayed the start of the 2017 growing season in eastern Washington. Following bud break, almost two weeks later than average, canopies grew vigorously, due to overly-moist soil conditions. Above-normal mid-to-late summer warmth helped slow canopy growth, and ensured full ripeness for a modestly-sized harvest for all of our red Bordeaux varieties.

Winemaker Notes

Alluringly deep garnet red in color, the nose of 2017 Collusion Cabernet Sauvignon is immediately generous, with deep, intense fruit in the form of sweet, ripe black plums and black cherry pie. Complex notes of clove and vanilla intertwine with these fruits on the palate, where, as the wine warms, the wine becomes increasingly velvety and luxurious. The finish, which retains freshness throughout, is long, with very subtle notes of damp forest floor, bay, and rich, black macerated fruits.
