On the night of July 20, 1969, we stared at the moon and listened to the radio chatter of the Apollo 11 astronauts. Once voice boomed back to the listeners on Earth declaring, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." This brand focuses on the emotions at play during the American Space Age, producing a grounded authenticity that speaks of the wine inside.
2021 Rosé, Central CoastSpace Age
Vintage Notes
We work with a small group of select growers in the regions of Monterey, Santa Barbara and Edna Valley to provide us with our fruit: Grenache and small amounts of Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignane. Sandy, well-drained soils and cooling offshore winds help preserve fruit-driven flavors and natural acidity. We focus on well-established vineyard blocks capable of providing the bright, exciting freshness of flavors that we require to produce this wine.
Winemaker Notes
The 2021 growing season in our California Central Coast vineyards was marked by low rainfall and a cool summer, which led to very gradual, even ripening and a late harvest at absolutely optimum fruit maturity. The result is this crisp, enticingly refreshing 2021 SPACE AGE ROSÉ.
Tasting Notes
The pale pink “eye of the partridge color” of our2021 SPACE AGE ROSÉ, favored by premier rosé producers in southern France’s Provence region, is testament to our gentle winemaking techniques. The wine shows focused, clean aromas and flavors, featuring strawberry and Bing cherry. On the finish, the fruit continues to express acidity and tantalizing flavors of fresh cherry and watermelon.
